The global marketplace provides significant opportunities for WSITC members to export their capabilities, products and services to a wide range of clients. There are a variety of programs available to help members to start to export, expand exporting activities, and develop their global business strategies.

Export Snapshot is a quick economic guide to the world, especially designed with the busy Australian exporter (or potential exporter) in mind. Each postcard in the series features a short article by Tim Harcourt, Austrade's Chief Economist, with his impressions of a country's economic prospects and potential as an export market, plus a summary of key economic and trade statistics. The articles are based on recent missions and include interviews with local business representatives, country officials, international economists (from agencies such as the World Bank), Senior Trade Commissioners and successful Australian exporters in each market. Export Snapshot will profile new and exciting market opportunities regularly. There are currently 30 Export Snapshots available online for download, ranging from Argentina, to the EU, to Israel, Taiwan, the USA and Vietnam.

EFIC, the Export Finance & Insurance Corporation 

EFIC, the Export Finance & Insurance Corporation (www.efic.gov.au ) has established a new initiative, EFIC Headway, to assist SMEs work access to working capital, by guaranteeing to banks to extend lending facilities for SMEs, without requiring additional security. EFIC has established new bonding facilities for use by Australian exporters to the US Market (which often requires Australian businesses to post bonds of up to 100% of contract value)

Austrade has developed a new online portal for Australian Information Communication and Technology (ICT) companies looking to take their first steps into international expansion. My Export Coach is a portal of export information designed for ICT companies that have never exported or have made only a few offshore sales. The site includes links to various export resources and also provides online modules of information that will help you decide if your company is export ready, which markets to target, and how. ICT companies that access My Export Coach will be put in touch with Austrade’s international network of business advisors, and organisations that provide practical assistance to Australian companies looking to sell their products or services offshore.
