The Western Sydney IT Cluster (WSITC) is a strategic industry developmentĀ initiative, supported by the NSW Government and other agencies, to drive innovation, entrepreneurship, internationalisation and business growth in Western Sydney's growing ICT industry. It has the following aims:
enhance awareness of the ICT capability of the region, facilitate the growth of business, jobs and investment for the ICT industry in Western Sydney;
accelerate the adoption and diffusion of new technologies both within the ICT industry in the region, and between the ICT industry and other industry sectors, particularly other high technology sectors;
strengthen the institutional base of the ICT industry in the region;
accelerate the take up of online services by other industries in Western Sydney through networking with other sectors; and
establish the Western Sydney IT Cluster as a model for regional clusters and a key strategy for regional innovation policies to create knowledge-based regional economies, improve access to business angels/venture capital, establish links to education and training institutions and access to expert business support services legal, accountancy and marketing.
